About

It’s a day long challenge event, think distance rather than height gain and it’s all inn the footsteps of the Romans, those road builders extraordinairre.

We’ll meet at the BBNP Visitor Centre where there is plenty of parking and then jump in a few cars and head off to the Roman Camp at Coelbren. It’s then a linear walk along the availble sections of Sarn Helen from Coelbren towards Brecon.

This is a truly stunning walk, taking in farmland and road but overwhelmingly remote track, the tracks tthat the Romans laid oh so long ago. We even stop by a standing stione that is inscribed with Latin that Andy will translate.

It’s a challenge as it’s a 22.5km day but thats with only 335m of ascent – the Romans certianly knew how to lay a relatively straight and relatively level track.

Join Andy on this challenge that is all about distance, the Romans and the land that he knows so well…
