Join us on The Cat’s Back, a fine narrow but not scary, airy, ridge walk 🙂
This 9.5-mile upland walk ascends the Cat’s Back, a rocky but relatively easy narrow ridge with a very good path in the northern Black Mountains. Once on top of the Cat’s Back, the route is pretty level for some miles taking in Hay Bluff and a section of the Offa’s Dyke path before descending into the Olchon valley and climbing back to the start point. There are also 2 1940’s aircraft crash sites close to the route. In good weather the views are extensive. Once up on the ridge, there is little shelter until we drop back into the valley.
