Welcome to our foraging course in the beautiful Brecon Beacons! Our course is designed to teach you how to identify, harvest and prepare wild foods found in the Welsh countryside as well as paying a visit to the highest waterfall in the National Park.

Edible or not?

Location:

The course takes place in the Brecon Beacons National Park, which is known for its stunning natural scenery and abundant flora and fauna. Our foraging experts will guide you through the hills, valleys and forests to discover the best spots for wild food.

Course Content:

Our course is designed for beginners and covers a range of topics including:

  • Identifying common wild plants and mushrooms
  • Harvesting techniques and best practices
  • Safety considerations when foraging
  • Preparing and cooking wild foods
  • Sustainable foraging practices and conservation

Graham will share their knowledge of the local area and its unique flora and fauna. You’ll learn how to identify common plants and mushrooms such as wild garlic, elderflower, and season allowing, chanterelles, as well as lesser-known species like sorrel and pennywort.

Equipment:

We recommend that you bring appropriate clothing and footwear for walking in the countryside, as well as a notebook and camera to record your findings. Disposable gloves and a box to store collected items in might also be a good idea.

Duration:

The course is a full-day experience, starting at 10 am and finishing at 3 pm. We’ll take regular breaks throughout the day to rest and enjoy the scenery.

Cost:

The cost of the course is £49.50 (£33 for under 18’s) per person. Lunch is not provided, so we recommend that you bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.
