Martin has been hiking and biking in the mountains for nearly 30 years. Origionally based close to the Peak district, Martins adventures covered the Peaks, Yorkshire Dales and Lakes. In early 2005 Martin moved to North Wales, which provided a great opportunity to explore the various regions of this area.

Martin has enjoyed taking groups of friends and colleagues on trips into the hills, and took the opportunity to formalize his experience in 2019 with a mountain leader certification. He has lead walks for a number of outdoor businesses and charity events, from Snowdon part of national 3 peaks, through through sunrise walks on Snowdon.

Martin loves spending time looking through maps to find unusual features, ancient sites, abandoned working or strange shapes, then plotting walks to go and see them. This sometimes ends with a great discovery, or disappointment as you find that pile of  stones is just a pile of stones and you have spent 2 hours fighting through bracken and heather. Fortunately this means he can bring you walks that are worth the trek, and the best way to get to them.
