Join Andy for a 7-day break to perhaps the most stunningly ‘different’ holiday destination in the world

ABOUT It’s Luton to Keflavik and we’ll pick up the vehicle and then it’s into Reykjavik where we stay for an night before heading off on our whistle-stop tour of the Golden Circle and the Best of the South. See the itinerary for a blow by blow account of the wondrous sights we’ll encounter 🙂 This is a guided tour with a good deal of short walks and one day-long adventure walk , with visits to hot springs and municipal pools, beaches, mountains, waterfalls, glaciers and volcanoes! The final stop on the tour is a relaxing visit to Blue Lagoon.
WALKS Walks and excursions are all included in the price and these are mainly made up of drive to a location and get out for an hours or two’s exploration before heading off again and being wowed by another of Iceland’s natural wonders. This tour does include a full day walk in a remote, often overlooked, area of the South Coast but if that’s not for you you can explore and do your own thing 🙂

ACCOMMODATION We move from place to place each and every day so over the course of the week expect to have occupied 5 different beds. This means we should all attempt to travel light and just carry a small bag to and from the car. Most of the accommodation have kitchens for our use and so we can self cater in the more remote areas and this will save us some money (most things including food are excessively expensive in Iceland). Towels, bedlinen etc are all provided.

SUMMER Summer in South Iceland is getting on for 22 hours of daylight. The golden hour last hours and hours making it an ideal place to visit for those keen photographers and amateurs alike. Much of the lowland areas are awash with lupins, a purple sea of blooming flowers disappearing into the distance. The light evenings take a bit of getting used to so don’t expect to return home refreshed. You won’t be. However, you will have made good use of every waking hour and visited as much as is humanly possible. This truly is a value for money trip 🙂

IMPORTANT This is a budget tour and is fully inclusive of good accommodation, transport, one municipal pool visit, entrance to the Kerid Crater, to the oldest parliament int he world, to Blue Lagoon, the Viking film set and all guiding. Any other excursions are optional. See the itinerary for a general plan but note that this might change due to issues beyond our control and the prevailing weather. Flights and food are not included. Please read the includes and excludes tabs and view our Terms and Conditions page.
