This walk is 14km and has 550m of ascent so not as tough as our challenge from the south walk but still tough, including as it does plenty of ‘off roading’. 🙂
About
Starting at a lay-by on the A470 we’ll walk a route that will see us rather alone for most of the day despite walking to the summit of the highest mountain in Southern Britain, Pen y Fan.
We’ll follow the Nant Crew past some delightful pools before striking uphill and gaining the ridge. Here we will follow the ridge to the summit of Pen y Fan.
The descent follows the Nant Crew down it’s cascades and waterfalls and pools, an area rarely trod and mainly only by Wales Outdoors. A true wilderness valley in the centre of a popular mountain area.
