Terms and Conditions
The small print page provides information relative to all of our events. We’ve kept it to a minimum, to be clear about timings, leaders, money etc and it is your responsibility to ensure you are happy with the information and simple conditions. The text in bold are the key pieces of info that you should be aware of.
YOUR BOOKING
Our leaders are sessional professionals and deliver their own walks in their own style. Some will appeal to you more than others, after all, we are all individuals and are made up of very different personalities. Any issues arising should in the first instance be addressed to the leader. If there is no suitable resolution do come to us at info@walesoutdoors.co.uk , and we will straighten things out.
We are not a large business and we like to keep things simple. We believe that we are all adults here and so common sense and a desire for fairness is the best approach as opposed to reams of tiny type solicitor drafted terms and conditions. This has, to date, served us well and we hope you appreciate this pleasant human approach 🙂
IMPORTANT
HIKES
- Dogs are very welcome if you are meeting us at the start point
- Walking boots please
- Warm layers and waterproofs essential
- You’ll need a good packed lunch
- Guides sometimes take their dog so if this is an issue for you please advise and we'll sort something out
TOURS
- There are plenty of stops and opportunities for toilet breaks and for snacks and lunch
- All tours are inclusive of any admission costs to castles and attractions
HIKES AND TOURS
- It may be that part or all of an event needs to be changed due to conditions beyond our control such as weather or changes to access that we could not foresee. In these instances we go with our best alternative and continue on with the day
- We will be leaving promptly so please arrange to be at the meeting point by the stated time. If running late then do message us and if we have service we’ll pick up and may be able to arrange to wait for/meet you. Without late arrival notification we will leave at ten minutes past the start time and later arrivals will forfeit the day.
- We don’t cancel due to weather unless it is unsafe to drive
INSURANCE
Guides have public liability insurance. All participate at their own risk and as adults or parents decide whether the chosen event is for them. The level of participation, in any event, is always a personal choice. We recommend that you take out a personal activity insurance plan to protect from any loss of income following the rare event of an accident whilst out walking or on a tour. Here is a link to one of the numerous companies offering this service – https://www.protectivity.com/sports-accident-insurance/
OUR GUIDED WALK REFUND POLICY
We offer refunds for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled event.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will not be refunded or credited. Similarly, no-shows on the day of the event are not eligible for a refund. We kindly ask all participants to arrive at the start point at least 10 minutes before the listed start time to ensure a prompt departure and avoid missing the tour.
If we need to cancel an event, you will receive as much notice as possible and a full refund.
Please note: We only guarantee to run hikes with a minimum of 5 bookings. The only foreseeable reasons for cancellation are low participant numbers or exceptional weather conditions.
OUR GUIDED TOUR CANCELLATION POLICY
We offer full refunds for cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled tour.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are not eligible for a refund or credit, and no-shows on the day will forfeit all monies paid.
If we need to cancel a tour, you’ll receive good notice and a full refund.
Please note: Tours are only guaranteed to run with a minimum of 3 bookings. The only foreseeable reasons for cancellation are low numbers or exceptional weather conditions.
We kindly ask all participants to arrive at the start point at least 10 minutes before the listed start time to ensure a prompt departure and avoid missing the tour.
OUR ADVENTURE HOLIDAY REFUND POLICY
We Cancel: In the unheard-of situation where we have to cancel an event, not happened to date, you get a 100% refund of the monies paid but we will not be liable for associated costs that you have incurred.
You Cancel: More than – 60 days notice – 100% refund. 30 days notice – 50% refund. Less than 30 days notice – 0% refunded – This is because it is unlikely, given that amount of notice, that we’ll be able to fill the spot/s. If we have incurred fees in the transaction these fees will be deducted from any refunded amount.
We, therefore, recommend that you have some holiday insurance in place to cover cancellations or re-scheduling that is beyond your control. Your bank is a good place to start for holiday insurance.
GENERAL GROUP INFO
We offer a range of walks of different lengths and difficulties so hope to cover most levels of ability/fitness. The key objectives of Wales Outdoors is to get people outdoors and walking and socialising with others who enjoy the same. We encourage the development of interest in the hills and mountains of Wales and we encourage all to build their skills and to get out on their own or to look to us for guided adventures in the UK and abroad. Our tours are aimed at the visitor to Wales and are small group guided days visiting countryside locations and historic monuments. Guides are Green Badge qualified and are knowledgeable about the history, politics and the economy of Wales and some may have special interests such as the nature and geology too.
